Realtek ALC 887 Driver No Sound


i new in ubuntu i started it 2 week around

i installed realtek alc887 driver and it having no sound issue

i tried to save alsa-base.conf file "options snd-hda-intel model=generic"


when i try install alsa utilities it showing error : make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.

help

smiles first off that driver is in the kernel already second you need to give more info . Like I have more than one soundcard if you do. or 2 I am not sure how to use the pulse audio sound server that comes and works with alsa.
so I like some real info. read this how to ask a question

I believe this will help you trouble shoot Ubuntu sound
