Reallocation of Space from one partition to other
Hello Everyone,
I am using SUSE 10.1 on a 64-bit processor. I have allocated all of my space to the partitions created during Installation. The /(70% used of 10G) partition does not have enough free space. The /home partition has lots of free space. Is it possible in any way by which i could reassign some of the free space from /home to /. I wish to allocate 10G of /home(40G) to / partition. Here's a link to a article on how to safely resize partitions:

GParted and QTParted both do re-sizing nicely. GPArted comes on a stand-alone bootable CD, and QTParted is on many "live CD" distros, including Knoppix.
Be sure to back up any critical data before doing this. |
Thank You for that information and the Links. I will trying it out after backing up of the data.
