Reallocation of Space from one partition to other

Hello Everyone,

I am using SUSE 10.1 on a 64-bit processor. I have allocated all of my space to the partitions created during Installation. The /(70% used of 10G) partition does not have enough free space. The /home partition has lots of free space.

Is it possible in any way by which i could reassign some of the free space from /home to /. I wish to allocate 10G of /home(40G) to / partition.

Regards,
Koolks

Here's a link to a article on how to safely resize partitions:

GParted and QTParted both do re-sizing nicely. GPArted comes on a stand-alone bootable CD, and QTParted is on many "live CD" distros, including Knoppix.

Be sure to back up any critical data before doing this.

Thank You for that information and the Links. I will trying it out after backing up of the data.
