I've just watched a clip from the BBC site and the sound was there also, have you tried playing just a music clip to see if there's sound?

Are you using alsa? Then you have to use the aoss wrapper to fool realplayer into thinking you use OSS.

To do this:
Code:

aoss realplayer

Thank you darkleaf, but i need a bit more help....

i have installed alsa-driver-1.0.8 and my kernal is 2.6.

I have just installed it, and when i did , aoss realplayer, it said
bash-2.05b$ aoss realplay
bash: aoss: command not found
I have just installed ALSA, do i have to do anything else to make my realplayer produce some sound.

Thanks alot for all your help guys..

If you haven't got aoss you didn't install the alsa-oss package. You need to install that too.
