reading both english and arabic in mandriva2007 terminal
Hello all,
I need to be able to read both english and arabic in Linux terminal.I used to have mandrake 10.1. All I needed to do is select bidirectional text rendering under Setting / console setting to be able to read english and arabic in the same file. I upgraded to Mandriva 2007 , there is no "setting" option . Would anyone know how to fix that. thanks in advance. |
Since nobody else has replied I will take a guess. I would first look at your environment variables. In particular I would look at the environment variables that start with the letters LC_. You can see what your shell session environment variables are using the following command.
Code:
printenv | sort | grep -i lc_ Hopefully that will get you started in the right direction even if it isn't a complete answer. :) |
I have en_us as well. I think I need to install a text editing package that supports bidirectional text editing. I just don't know which one. I installed mandriva2007 and it comes almost with nothing, i need to install everything myself.
thanks for your help. If anyone knows what package i need, plz let me know. |
