read-only file system
 
i tryed to buid a lfs by the book and i have a problem: the hdd i used it had some files and i forgot to delet them. when i wrote "wke2fs /dev/xxx" those files become unredeemable and when i try to delete them it telles me "read-only file system". what shoud i do??
excuse my english and please help :((

Mount the partition read-write...man mount for more details.

When your using the mk2fs command to format the hard drive to install LFS onto, it should pretty much wipe out any files you had on the drive. No need or reason to worry about deleting them now.
