read only error


i have directory "backup" ..the problem is that i cant make any action on it ...i checked the permissions and ownership and i think there is no problem on it..the situation is on the attachment ..

Is it possible the disk is physically read-only (i.e. a physical read-only switch on the device?)

Do you get anything interesting from 'dmesg' when you remove and re-add the device?
