How to make a delay to response to a web request by apache

Hi dear users,
I have installed modescurity on my apache server right now. Modsecurity each time log the alert of bad request and i want to process these logs each time. how can i make a delay when apache wants to response to the bad request?I mean till i am processing the log of the request,Apache server not respond to the related request, and after for example 3 seconds the apache server response to that request?(modsecurity is on detection only mode).
