Re-attaching a segment to a Logical Volume

Hello, guys:

A couple of days ago, I had a problem with a segment on a logical volume. The drive is quite old, and is probably about to fail for good, but maybe there is a problem with the PSU, I'm not quite sure. The point is I can power the drive with an external PSU and attach it to the SATA port and the system recognizes it, but despite I've read the man for lvm, I can't find which are the steps for re-attaching that drive to the logical volume, so I can have it active again. Could anyone, please, explain how to do it? I know I'm probably loosing all the data on that logical volume, but despite that I'd like to know how to do it, just in case I run in the same problem in the future.

Thanks!

Was the disk removed from the volume group?

What's the output of pvs?
