rar question
this s/b easy... but, it isn't.
i know how to unrar files using "unrar e filename". i know ark has rasr and unrar facilities, but it doesn't appear to handle encryption (password protection. how do i rar files *and* password protect them? i looked up rar in synaptic and there is a shareware version of rar (not sure if it supports passwords, either), but no FOSS version. i looked to see if unrar had the capability to rar files and i didn't see that capability. is everyone using registered shareware rar to rar files? does it have the capability to password protect the files? also, while i'm at it, is there any way to right click on a rar file, send it to an unrar program and then have the program automatically ask for the password, if it exists (like in windows)? that method is much more efficient that CLing it. ps - not complaining at all - just pursuing a more perfect computing experience... tia... |
