Random reboots

Hello I have Dell XPS 630i and I'm having the same issue. Plus sometimes the computer just reboots if I try to install or boot to linux. I have tried many different versions and I know they work cause I have tried them on my Laptop.

As far as specs:
Nvidia Nforce 650i SLI MB
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz
Nvidia GTX 480 Graphics
4GB Ram DDR2
2 7200rpm 750GB HDD
Currently Running Windows 7 Home Premium
I want to run Ubuntu 12.04 on it.
Have tried:
Mint
Ubuntu
Fedora
and many others still the same thing.
Please Help me.

Welcome to Linux Questions!

Firstly, a tip on posting. Always create your own thread; don't just add to an existing one. A new thread will be more likely to get noticed, and it will appear on the zero-replies list.

A search on the internet shows that quite a few people had problems with that computer. Several got results by installing a 32-bit version. The difference in performance is not much, and the computer spends most of its time waiting for input anyway, except when playing games or number-crunching. Try the 32-bit version of Mint and see what happens. If there's a problem, come back and tell us exactly what it did.
