ram size

Hi

I would like to know how much build in ram my old labtop has.
I have installed Red Hat 9 ( the minimum option since not enough disk space) . The interface is simply a command prompt . What command can I use ? I'm lost .

Do I need to be in a special directory?

Thanks for you help
Hugh

use the command 'free' it will tell you how much memory (and swap space) you have installed and how much is currently used (ie how much free vs used-by-programs memory you have).
