Raid


hi,
i had red hat 4.0 installed on a pc , i want to do RAID on this pc , i am having single hdd of 40 gb and on which linux and windows is installed in dual boot. while 2 otrher hdd of 20 gb each .
i attached these two hdd and done linux raid fs on it . but next to that i am not getting /etc/raidtab file as well as it is not showing mkraid command also.
is there any package or service to be install to do this , if it is pl give me path to download it.

You will need to use mdadm to create new raid devices. Once the devices are created you can use mk<you fav file system> and mount it. Here is an example from the man page

mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=1 --raid-devices=2 /dev/hd[ac]1

Create /dev/md0 as a RAID1 array consisting of /dev/hda1 and /dev/hdc1
