Radio station (conceptual help)

Hi All,

I'm trying to get my head wrapped around this one. I have a website hosted by Godaddy and on one of the pages, would like to offer music pieces to listen to such as with an internet radio station. Here are my issues:

1) I don't have a server running a static IP, just a desktop with dhcp. (Godaddy doesn't offer a multi-song player)

2) I'm not aware conceptually of how this can be done. I know there is darkice and icecast, is there a server somewhere that I can load my music onto and then embed a player on the webpage which would access that server?

Sorry, but I'm feel abit in the dark here and would appreciate someone to help me understand the basics and if its even possible.

Thanks!

This should help. About dot com is usually a good reference source and, though they have ads, they don't try to sell you stuff directly.

You also need to investigate bandwidth issues and other such issues. Streaming from a home server would likely violate your terms of service with your ISP if you have typical residential service; streaming from GoDaddy might require an upgrade to your hosting service.

Good luck.
