quotacheck

I am trying to use quotacheck on my root directory. I made sure to include usrquota, grpquota on the root folder. When I run a quotacheck -cug /, it tells me that it cannot guess the format from the filename, and it wants me to specify the format on the command line. it also cannot find the filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted with quota option.

Exactly how did you implement quotas?
There's a good guide in Chap 7 here http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...ion/index.html.

As the error msg says, it needs to be mounted with the quota option.
Please read that guide carefully and check you did each step in order. There's no harm in starting over with something like this.
