Hi Tiamat

I am sorry to keep bothering you. Below is the console output from ifconfig and the script firewall.sh. I had ppp runing.

I am still not able to view webpages in any browser sence I changed to static networking. It says Unknown host on all the pages I tryed. Do you have any ideas??

BTW - as you get help on your network configuration, I thought I'd point out a possible reason your use of the su command did not work. When you just type su the initialization scripts are not run. So, you are not really working like the super user (root). Next time try "su -". This will execute the initialization scripts to setup your environment as if you had logged on as root.

Most likely you cant get to your DNS.
is your DNS properties set correctly (to what your ISP tells you to (on the windows machine)?

try going to http://213.65.227.238 (www.altavista.com) if that works, you know its a problem with your DNS

I got the same answer unknown host name when I tryed http://213.65.227.238. I found that as long as eth0 is not running the web pages work just fine. But I belive that it should work with eth0 running I just don't understand.
