System is working but I keep seeing these messages during start up that I would like to clean up. // <='s are my comments below 1> Run file system check on root for LVM activation fsck 1.34 (25-Jul-2003) ****************************************************** * Warning: The dma on your hard drive is turned off. * * This may really slow down the fsck process. * *************************************************** //My bios says DMA is on??? 2> Starting slurpddone No replicas in slapd.conf file "/etc/openldap/slapd.conf"! Error: : directory specified in "replogfile" slapd.conf directive does not exist Starting Firewall Initialization (phase 2 of 3) Warning: detected activated squid, enabling FW_SERVICE_SQUID! You still have to allow tcp port 3128 on internal, dmz and/or external. Warning: detected activated samba, enabling FW_SERVICE_SMB! You still have to allow tcp port 139 on internal, dmz and/or external. Warning: FW_SERVICE_SQUID defined, but no Squid server found running! done //I believe this is all one message. I mostly concerned about the Port issues - namely where should I go to open them. And in runlevel and inetd Squid appears to be initiated and ON/enabled. |
In Yast you can manually set the DMA modes for your drives. Go to YAST->Hardware->IDE DMA Mode. Check that your drive is listed and that DMA is not turned off. You can set it per your hardware specs.
