questions after upgrade of RH 7.3
Hello All:
After upgrading RH 7.3 to a newer version of 7.3 --including the kernel, I have a few questions. I can no longer access my modem. Is Marv Stodolsky still the man for Linmodem drivers? I use kde. And when I boot up I get alot of old windows popping up from a session a LONG time ago. How do I fix this? Simularly, when I begin the process of accessing the internet through kppp, I get a window w/ "question(2)" rather than w "question" (--the one that asks for su pword). How do I fix this? I believe the previous question might also solve this one, but just to make sure.... Lastly, I'd like to upgrade to RH 9 Legacy (from RH 7.3) before jumping into Fedora Core (Legacy at first, then the current stable release). Any pointers? Looking for all relevant replies to all or part of what I need. Thanks. ergo_sum |
I have never had any sucess with a RH upgrade not breaking software. Best bet: uninstall the modem drivers, and recompile them from source. DO NOT USE A RPM BINARY.
