question about partitioning files/mandrake.

Hello.
I have never used a linux but am extremely interested. I definatly want a dual-boot.

I am having difficulties partitioning files.

My question: I wanted fedora, but i heard that mandrake will auto partition my space. Is this correct? If so, how would this look/ how difficult is it? After have mandrake, can I have fedora also? What are the differences between mandrake and fedora?

Thank you

i believe mandrake will auto partition

it's also cooler b/c it has built-in mp3 support

im currently downloading the isos for mandrake 10.0, but in order to get my dual boot of windows xp/fc1 to work, i had to get Partition Magic 8 and resize my Windows XP ntfs partition (ntfs and linux dont work well together)
After that, I created a fat32 partition for windows and linux to share and modified /etc/fstab so that I could manipulate it w/o root access.
it sounds difficult, but it really isn't.

I believe if memory serves me correctly Fedora will also auto partition if you select that option during install.

Fedora can't resize ntfs partitions, and I believe you need to run fips to resize FAT32.

i used partition commander, and it worked out better than ever
if you let them auto-partition, you must have the partitions already made, or be ready for Mandrake 10 to take up ALL FREE SPACE or your entire HDD, win partition included
