a few points here:-
Quote:
Can you use the Mint DVD to update the install done from the live CD?
|
with Mint10 live_cd - there is a option to upgrade to the DvD version, in the start_help screen that is displayed upon a reboot or restart.
- that's probably most of the 110Mb updates.
Quote:
if that is not possible then can you download all the updates (202 updates, 110 MB worth) to a file and update from the file?
|
use APTonCD ( menu-> accessories-> aptoncd )
Google it 1st, to see how it works.
- from my experience, it doesn't copy all the available files in synaptic, but seems to do most of them.
- use it to make a cd @ home, then take that to school & update the school's PC, using that disk. Do your friend(s) PC too.
Finally, yet another way:-
do the updates more gradually - use the Mint update menu, to de-select
any L3 updates, as there is usually lots of them, & do only the L1 & L2 updates.
you could, permantly leave L3 de-selected, if you wished to. this won't effect Mint too greatly, but you won't have the latest updates to the available apps.
