I'm having all sorts of issues due to a python-pysqlite2 dependency problem that I've introduced. In browsing for solutions, I came across a suggestion to try
sudo dpkg --configure -a
This gives me some fairly typical errors
Setting up python-pysqlite2 (2.4.1-1) ...
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: not overwriting local files
pycentral pkginstall: not overwriting local files
dpkg: error processing python-pysqlite2 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of python-pysqlite2-dbg:
python-pysqlite2-dbg depends on python-pysqlite2 (= 2.4.1-1); however:
Package python-pysqlite2 is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing python-pysqlite2-dbg (--configure):

I'd be grateful to anyone who can advise me on how to fix this. Yesterday, an upgrade to 8.1 left me with a (thankfully wrong) warning that my system might be unusable.
