Pysol Problem

Good day. I would like to play solitare games on my system. I found Pysol & tried to install it. The READ ME file said that I don't have to install it because it uses Python. So I found Python & installed that. I can't seem to get Pysol to work. Is there a special file I need to run to make it work? Did I miss something? I also can't seem to install Pysol sound server. I've tried to run the config file, but I keep getting an error.

./configure: line 18: sdl-config: command not found

I know these seem like dumb questions, but I can't seem to figure it out or find any information that can help. Thank you for your help.

Mandriva 2005LE
Pysol 4.80 & 4.82
Pysol sound server 3.01
Python 2.4.2

If you're using kde for your graphic environment, then cheat a little! Just go into the mandriva control centre (aka mcc aka configure my computer) and install "kde games".

If you just highlight the listing for it, the big right hand box tells you whats in it - one of the things is kpatience (kpat). It's as close to the way that windows solitaire works as possible. Whereas pysol and a couple of others are just a little different.

You shouldn't need anything extra (python or whatever) for kde games

When I wanted to install pysol I ran into problems, too. I have python installed but I couldn't find anything to tell me how to start it. I finally downloaded a binary package and it works fine. I had to find one for my distro, Slackware. You should be able to find a binary rpm for your distro.

Thank you for the help. I installed both games with the RPMDrake. I really want to be able to do this from the binaries, but it never seems to work for me. Thank you again for your help.

If you installed it/this/these through RPMdrake, then you did install binaries. RPM's are just that, precompiled binary packages.

Or did you mean that you wanted to install from source ???
