Putty telnet question (Login Screen goes away)

Everytime when I telnet into this one particular UNIX system, the login screen goes away after 1 minute idle period.

Now, is this problem at my end? or there UNIX server is set for the login screen to go away after 1 minute?

And BTW, is there PUTTY for Linux. I need one for Mandy 9.1

I am not sure about the login screen going away after one minute but I think ssh would be better than telnet. On linux you don't need putty you can do either ssh or telnet there is a client for both.
