PuTTy connection problem

Hi

and thanks for help in advance.

My problem is I have been connecting to a server via puTTy. For last day or two I can no longer connect to one of the 3 servers. It gives error "PuTTy Fatal Error : Server closed connection unexpectedly". I can still connect to other 2 servers. Even if I change the connection I can not connect. While other colleagues can still connect to the particular server using the same details i.e login/username. I have also tried WinScp and it doesnt connect either.

The log of PuTTy says
"Event Log: Server version: SSH-2.0-Sun_SSH_1.0.1
Event Log: We believe remote version has SSH-2 rekey bug
Event Log: We claim version: SSH-2.0-PuTTY_Release_0.60"

WinSCP log says
"We believe remote version has SSH-2 rekey bug
. 2010-12-1 We believe remote version has SSH-2 ignore bug
. 2010-12-10 Using SSH protocol version 2
. 2010-12-10 We claim version: SSH-2.0-WinSCP_release_4.2.9
. 2010-12-10 Server unexpectedly closed network connection
* 2010-12-10 (ESshFatal) Server unexpectedly closed network connection."

Thanks for any info you could provide

Can you ping the server? If yes then I think its problem with your ssh, check if the ssh service is configured properly. Also check if the server name or ip has been changed lately.

I dont really know how to ping the server since I use 127.0.1.19 as the address. The network then maps it to the real IP of the server. If I ping on 127.0.1.19 it gives 0% loss and packets transferred. If I ping the address on the network it give "request has timed out". I would also add that the server is not really accessible. It is a couple of thousand miles away on the client end. We cannot access there files (besides the ones we are allowed). Also when I ping the server using Telnet I get this problem SSH-2.0-Sun_SSH_1.0.1 and on the other server that I can connect gives SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_5.0
might there be a problem with the SSH version?
Also another of my fellows has connected with my IP and it is working.
