[SOLVED] PSCP without Putty session open

I'm trying to run PSCP from an SQL server agent job which runs a vb script using a call to the pscp executable. The job runs and completes successfully but no files are transferred to the remote server. If I open a putty session and connect to the remote server then run the sql agent job the job successfully transfers the file. Do I need putty opened and connected? The file is on a windows server transferring to a Linux server.

Have you tried running the pscp command from a DOS box to see what errors (if any) are happening? IIRC you shouldn't need a putty session open.

Thanks for that Steve. I decided not to use sql server agent job and changed the vb script to be run by windows scheduler instead. This works great!
