proventi GX4002 command line

ok were do i begin i was given a proventia network intrusion device by a friend. he informed me that the system needed to be reset. so i took it home and opened the command line through console. to little of my knowledge it uses a redhat flavor of linux and i have no idea how to use this os. i am needing to find how i can do a factory reset through the command line. i need to do a factory reset because this appliance has a preset subnetmask and ip address. this needs to be changed to its new location for it to even start operating correctly. any info will be greatly appreciated.

This appears to be a proprietary IBM product. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer or visiting the manufacturer's website for a manual?

If it is running some form of RHEL, have you checked whether you can configure the ip address from the command line? https://access.redhat.com/documentat...Interface.html

..and the second hit in Google for "proventia factory reset" is:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docvie...id=swg21588221

...a document from IBM, with step-by-step directions.
