Proper way to add repositories for Centos

What is the preferred way to import a key?
Code:
wget -O /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-6 https://www.fedoraproject.org/static/0608B895.txt
rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-6
or
Code:
rpm --import https://www.fedoraproject.org/static/0608B895.txt
Please describe why.

Thanks

Use the epel-release RPM package as it already contains /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL.

In regards to my original question, what is the purpose of saving the key in /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-6?

Because that's the default location for (distribution) signing keys:
rpm -qf /etc/pki/rpm-gpg
rpm -qf /etc/pki
