Propellerhead Reason and ubuntu studio

Hi, I am another noobie to Linux and after an intense week of sitting staring at my screen until the wee hours, it's starting to look so cool. I have already found so many alternatives to all the programs I normally have used on xp that are even better than what I have been putting up with.

My only "windows" program that I would love to use on ubuntu is propellerheads "reason". Does (or has) anyone have any idea how to get it fine tuned? I have it working through CrossOver, but the CPU usage has jumped so high, it halts the program.

Also my Fast Track Pro has taken some time to tune into ubuntu and I am guessing this may be a reason for my probs.

Any advice out there??

I would try Wine (which really should give you very similar possibly lesser) results than crossover:

reason

I also have recently installed ubuntu on my pc. And so far I found it great even better then windows for me. The only prob is like the other person is i would like to run propeller heads reason.

I also installed wine so i could use the program but i can not get it to work.

Could it be cause it is installed on an other hard drive with windows? or do i have to try to install it on ubuntu ? help would be much appreciated

you can't use wine with already installed program on windows. You need to do a fresh install of Reason with wine, eg. wine setup.exe (or whatever setup file Reason has)

I'm interested in the outcome of it as I used to use and liked Reason back in my windows days
