proftpd or apache is faster for mirrors?

Hi,
i want to provide mirroring in some sites.
I put a celeron in this server and it is needed to have low CPU usage.
It is better to use proftpd or httpd(apache)?
Who of the 2 can handle more downloads with smaller CPU usage?
Thanksa lot for the help.
Christos

proftp is an ftp deamon
apache is an http deamon

http is great for web pages but not so good for large files

ftp is great for large files but not so much for small <500K
so if you are mirroring linux iso's use proftp if you are mirroring someones website, use apache
