ProFTPd gives 'number files'

Hello everyone,

I tried searching the forums and googling but to no avail :(
I am using ProFTPd, and I am using the basic Slackware 9.1 setup, except that I turned on anonymous ftp by removing the ftp user, and I turned off the DNS lookup. Now, after a few months of working, I have noticed that my /incoming directory of the anonymous login has alot of files consisting out of numbers with a dot, for example "236.431". They are binary in origin, and I can't seem to find anything recognisable in them. What are they and can I delete them? (Or rather: how to not get them in the first place..)

Thanks for reading :)

Perhaps someone is taking advantage of your anonymous ftp server to store their own files ?
