ProFTPD & Webmin

Hi all,

i recently installed proftp and configured it. this works fine.
and i've installed webmin, so far that works quite well.

but when i want to configure proftpd with webmin it sais:

Code:
The program /usr/local/sbin/proftpd does not appear to be the ProFTPD server.
Maybe it is not installed, or your module configuration is incorrect.
Output from the command /usr/local/sbin/proftpd -v was :

- ProFTPD Version 1.2.10
maybe my config isn't correct?

http://www.humster.nl/public/ftpconfig.jpg

i hope someone can help!

thanks in advance.

Is your proftpd.conf in /etc/proftpd directory?

Your conf is good but I've never seen this error. Which distro are you running? Have you installed the latest tar.gz or rpm of webmin?

If you installed proftpd from source using the default ./configure without changing the paths, then proftpd.conf should be in /usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf.

I've been having the same problem. I downloaded the proftpd.wbm file suggested by jojob, but I can't figure out what to do with it. There are no other .wbm files on my system. Should I try compiling webmin from source (I've tried this in the past with little success).

That didn't work for me.

On Version 1.220 of Webmin with (Fedora Core 4).

ProFTPD Server module gives me:

Quote:
The program /usr/sbin/in.proftpd does not appear to be the ProFTPD server. Maybe it is not installed, or your module configuration is incorrect. Output from the command /usr/sbin/in.proftpd -v was :

- ProFTPD Version 1.2.10
I also changed just about everything in module configuration, even used locate proftpd.conf, proftpd.pid, proftpd, etc. but all I get is the above.

This might be a topic kick, but since I can't find the date, and got a problem...
Well.. I'm sorry then.

Anyway: I got exactly the same error, using Webmin on RedHat 9
Has anyone already find an solution, cause I'm stuck on this.

Regards,

René
