Question Proftpd & anonymous users

How would I go about configuring an anonymous ftp site on my server using Proftpd? I went to their site and it said the easiest way was to create an anonymous user. My only problem with this is if the person trying to login with the anonymous account can also log onto the computer via ssh. So, how can I add a user and not allow them to access the computer through either a shell or ssh?

in the User Manager or what ever u use to edit your user's properties there should be a LoginShell option where you can change different shell types for the user eg. bash, sh etc etc..

in there is an option to select /bin/false or <empty> or something along those lines.. if selected the specific user cannot login via shell..

Can someone confirm this for me just in case i'm wrong.

I'll give it a try when I get home. I don't think that was an option under the drop down box but I'll take another look. I'll also try to manually type it in there.

Well all you need to do is edit /etc/ftpusers and take out the user ftp and it will work...
