proftp

I am having trouble finding out the reasons why I cannot add or delete files from the FTP server - pro ftp- when outside my network. I can when inside the network - using the same user name/pass for each. The log says I'm trying to log in under anonymous, but I put in my name/pass to get in. Any ideas?

just a curious guess, when you log in locally, what ip address are you using (to connect to the server) ? is it the same one you use to access the server from outside the network ?

When local, i log in using the internal ip 192.168.... when I log in outside the network, I use the external IP 66.*.*.*

The ftp server is behind a watchguard firewall with a "hole" punched in it for that external IP - natted to the internal ip of the ftp server.
