Profile setup

Since I am new to linux and was trying to learn all this administrative stuff I was signing on as root all the time, although I had created a user i got all my short cuts and links under root without thinking that when I sign on as the user none of them will be there. Now I am wondering if there is a way to copy all shortcuts and gui setups to the user I want to sign on as...?

Maybe copying the /root folder to the user you want the settings to apply to's home would work.

Depending on the shell you are using just copy the profile file over.

For example if you are using tcsh, then copy the .tcshrc file over into your other user's home dir.
