Processor families that Linux runs on


I need the name on one processor family that Linux runs on. I know Intel, ARM9, AMD and Cyrix...Need one more...

AMD systems run wonderfully. Also, the Power PC architecture kernel exists, but I've never tried it. (PowerPC being Apple computers, excluding the new Intel-based ones)

Smells like homework!

You could google or LQ search to find your answer. You could look at any distribution and possibly see the requirements or availabilities.

Intel, AMD and Cyrix are manufacturers not CPU architectures..

Better do that question over. otherwise you'll only get partial credit.
