Processor architecture


what is the command to find the processor architecture ?

if x86 and it also bits 64 bits -
cpuinfo gives the name only

Code:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
and look for the letters lm in the flags part.

That will only tell you the architecture you compiled your kernel for. Remember that x86_64 can run plain x86 kernels and apps as well. So, it will tell you nothing about the capabilities of your cpu.
