Process starting in another tty

Just a quick question. Is it possible to start an application in another tty. (Like to bother the desktop user from ssh.)

Spell out what you mean by "another tty". Leave nothing to the imagination.

Like if I'm logged on as myself using ssh, can I start, say Firefox, and have it appear on the desktop users' screen.

What desktop user? You know, when you ask a question, you should try to include enough details so it makes sense.

Is there one user or two? If there are two, are you logged as yourself or the other person?
