Cool Process Sleeping?

I have Fedora Core 5, and it´s totally awesome! It does pretty much everything I would want to do with my pc,and more, but there´s yet another problem that still remains a mystery to me: I have been able to load Software Updater days before, but lately the program keeps going to the status of SLEEPING on me. I tried clicking ¨Continue Process¨ but it doesn´t want to change its ways. Is there any way to fix this?

Can you give us more details please? Where are you getting this status information from, and where are you clicking "Continue Process".

Software updater in FC5 is not all that good (In my opinion). It tends to hand without displaying any error messages. Try opening a command line, and switching to root. Then use "yum update". This should download and install the updates (Software Update is just a frontend for YUM). I have found that Software Updater freezes when something goes wrong with YUM, so if yum produces any errors post them here.

I hope this helps

continue, process, software, updater
