Question Process Info (more than ps )

Hey everyone,

We got some user that must have a PHP script or something that's getting stuck in an endless loop.

I've checked as far as I know how with top and ps, but this httpd process keeps coming back using 50-95% of the CPU. I've been killing it all day yeasterday and this morning. But it keeps coming back. And it will keep on running until I kill it.

It's owned by httpd, and the best info that I was able to get from ps is that it's coming from httpd.conf

How can I get more infomation about a httpd process. I need to track down the exact file and user that is causing this problem so that this issue can be resolved.

Thanks in Advance

look in /proc/<PID>

where <PID> is the id of the process you need info on - just cat some of the files in there.

for instance:

$ cd /proc/2964
$ ls
cmdline cwd@ environ exe@ fd/ maps mem root@ stat statm status
$ cat cmdline
/usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin

basically, everything the kernel knows about this process should be in there. hope this helps!
