Unhappy probs with messenger


hi,
i use knoppix 4.0 for short time now.
it boots from cd.

i want to use a messenger and in the time i used windows i had had icq.
now i want to use gaim, but no version is running.

only 2.0, but there are instead of letters only some signs...

what can i do ?

and sorry 4 my bad english xD

use kuliax. it is also a debian 4.0 remastered...

and all is working properly

but if you are a windows renegate perhaps it would be better to install wine and some applications able to run both, in linux under wine, and in windows, so you can change the system

a good messenger for both ist "miranda"

a good very light email client is nPOPQ

a good high performence editor is UDP (unicode document processor with integrated data base function: you can use true type from windows in wine and write really complex documents all in unicode or not usable in linux and windows. UDP generates also HTML doc's and emails with unicode!)

a good FTP client is filezilla
