I have a xsession.error file but no xsession, which is created by using gtk-theme-switch2 to change the theme, the xsession.error file is as follow:

BTW i am using SUSE 9.3

Sounds like your kde install is borked. Probably the easiest solution is remove kde and reinstall it with all dependencies.
