problems with ubuntu version 9.04
 
i have installed ubuntu version 9 and i cant seem to find where harddisk partions are,what do i do??
also what do i do to install the webcam and to change from gnome to Kde enviroment!!
i also installed virtualbox but i seem not to find the icon

The command fdisk -l (L lower case) as root or sudo or su gives you all the partitions if that is what you mean ?
If you have installed both kde and Gnome just lock out and change session.

Most web cams should be plug and play so just plugging it in will hopfully work. you may have to configure the program you are using to use the web cam. Some webcams are not supported out of the box so if it does not work try this tutorial https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Webcam.

On my Ubuntu Desktop virtualbox is right at the bottom of Applications>>Accessories (I had to scroll for it).

You could ensure it has installed correctly by typing "virtualbox" into a console.
