Im runnin dsl and have synaptic for Devian 0.16. I have found the java package, clicked java-common and gone install. It downloads the package but after it just hangs with the loading icon. I can see the java folder in my emelfm....but i dont know how to install from there.

Any ideas?:S
Did you mean Debian instead of devian? I've never heard of a distro named devian.
Just a guess here, but in Synaptic, when installing you will see a link to view the terminal, click on it. There might be a question that you need to answer before the installation continues.
