Question Problems with SOUND CARD

Hi,

I am really new in this linux Stuff, yesterday i installed RH8 and everything seemed perfect. but everytime the sistem intends to play a sound it HANGS!! the mouse doesnot work and i can not also use the virtual users (Ctrl+Alt+F2, F3, etc) i dont want to waste time looking for a good driver.

I want to Disable the sound in my whole system, how can i do that?

another question:
how do i stop kudzu from running at boot up.???

thank you very much

Umm. I would try reconfiguring your sound card by booting into the terminal (dont load the gui) and logging in as root.

Then try 'sndconfig'

Cause it sounds like you have a clash of IRQ's!

Correct me if i'm wrong peoples.

I used sndconfig when I used redhat 8 for my PCI Creative Live 5.1 Sound Card. I think that was version 0.68/0.69 of sndconfig.

To install an rpm use. I think?

rpm -uvh (url where the rpm is)

You need to be logged in as root and not have the Graphical User Interface open at all.
