Have you tried to play other Audio CD's? If so, do they work with no trouble?

What Linux distribution are you running?

Have you considered trying CD's from your collection which are a few years old or any audio CD's that you may have compiled yourself?

My thought here is that I have seen a lot of new audio CD's are actually more than just audio CD's. Some of the new CD's are mixed mode or multi session CD's.

Maybe Linux is having trouble with mutli session CD's due to some configuration issue in your Linux somewhere.

It's a wild guess of course, but worth ruling out.

If the mounted location is blank, that's correct as audio CDs aren't mounted (there's no filesystem as such).

Can you get sound normally out of these programs?
