Problems with Linksys befsr41

I have a dual boot system, with Xp and RedHat 9. I recently bought a Linksys BEFSR41 router, it is working fine under XP. I am new to Linux and I have no idea how to set it up under RedHat.

Im not sure the specs of the router but if it works automatically in xp then you probably just need to setup your nic to use dhcp, then it should work.

i have the exact same problem. but i have 2 machines one running XP the other redhat 9. when i have both plugged in to the router it works for about 20 or so minutes, then neither computer gets the net.

i think its the redhat machine that causes it to stop working.

it is also a befsr41

I agree with Demonbane on the first one. The second one (martygehrke) sounds like you may have conflicting IP addresses. Are both machines using DHCP? If not try that and don't forget to set your router first. If so then you may want to set up one or both with static IP addresses. The windows machine should usually be suspect. I'm not sure but it may be changing IP addresses. You may also have a bad router. They can have issues all by their lonsome.
