problems with cfdisk
hi
i have a problem with cfdisk or harddisk a want to install slackware on another computer my other computer have 2 harddisks when i insert cd 1 and start my computer etc and use cfdisk it show only 1 harddisk and only 2 partitions but there are 3 that computer run now winxp with c,d,e how can i view them all ? thanks |
Linux labels harddrives as hda (c) hdb (d) hdc (e)
try cfdisk /dev/hd( b or c depending on which one you want) Dev hda is the default . |
another altenative other than the one mentioned by joe83 (which is the best one), is taking your winxp cd and boot it.. try to run DISKPART..
it's very dynamic and it shows a complete table of all the HDs and partition BUT as it is in a winxp cd, the linux partitions (ext2, ext3...) will be marked as "unknown" as you don't have linux in your system yet, at least you'll be able to create the partitions. |
thanks but i did it on the way joe83 told me
now it works thanks any way for your comment |
