Problems with bootup...

Recently, I finally got Mandrake 9.1 installed on my dual boot system, but some weird things have been coming up now.

Soon after I boot up but before LILO comes up, a series of 9As get printed to the screen.

Like this:

9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A 9A ...and that gets printed until it takes half the screen, and then LILO comes up to boot.

Also, after I choose to boot in Linux, it says Loading Linux.... and it stalls for like 5 minutes, where the dots act like a meter until actual boot up starts.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks for any of your help.

Apparently it's not configured correctly yet. Redo the config file, then run /sbin/lilo for changes to take effect.

After reading those blurbs on LILO, I'd like to know: does this configuration seem correct? This is the original state of LILO after installation. Seems the same as those blurbs.
