Problems using linex

Hi all

After reading these threads i thought " BLIMEY AND THESE ARE THE BEGINNERS!!! " lol

Still here goes for you guys
I have bought an acer aspire 1 and it is loaded with linpus lite so it says ( when the page loads it has 4 categories connect work fun and files....in different colours)

Id dearly love to get on with this system, however my questions are.

1. If you put a memory card in the side with say photos and movies in it from my camera, how can you download them into the various folders ie photos and movies?

2. Also if you delete a photo to trash is it gone forever? or can i retrieve it somehow???? Problem is i cant find a trash can?

3. Is there a manual for this version so i can download, print and read when i need to do something?

Got lots of questions and i can find most answers but these are just not available. A manual would help

Thx in advance guys

Pete

this is all in your help file. But the camera just plug it in turn it on Linux will see it a window will open and you will see a folder called dcim click it that is your folder.
if you delete to trash you are just moving it to to trash then you will have to empty trash where it will be gone for ever.
Any time you have a question about a program open a terminal and type man and program name. Linpus has help files connected to the man files. all your answers

A) To get a better chance that the right people will look at your post, you should change the title from
Problems using linex
to
Problems using Linpus Lite

To change the title, click the EDit button at the bottom of your original post, then click the "go advanced" button. Then edit the title field and save.

B) The Linpus website pretends to have a manual available for download from
http://www.linpus.com/download_4_1.php
But when I tried, it didn't work. Maybe that download page is fake, but maybe I just did it wrong. You should try.
Also, there ought to be a manual for download on the Acer website as well, but I didn't search.

C) Your first two questions would be trivial to answer for any distribution the experienced Linux user answering has tried or even has looked at the manual for. But they are the sort of thing likely to be so different in Linpus Lite vs. the distributions I have used, that I can't try to answer. That is why you need to attract the attention of someone who knows some specifics about Linpus Lite.

D) Some of the manufacturer pre installed Linux distributions are so bad that the right answer is to select a better Linux distribution, download and burn the install CD for it and use that to wipe and replace the software on your system. I don't know if that is true for the Acer Aspire 1, whether its pre installed copy of Linpus Lite is a lemon nor which other Linux distribution would work well. Without "Acer Aspire 1" in the title line of your post, you're not likely to get the attention of anyone who can answer that.

Thx for reply
1. Changed title as requested
2.Cant download either from linpus website either
3.Not very trivial to me. Quite important actually lol.
4. If if is so hard to get answers on using linex and people start to advise cd downloads etc then i may as well put the other well known distros on it. At least i know how to work them.

I thought id giove this a go though rather than download other distros

I went to this sight and found every answer I could think of. From hardware to to programs.
I have a friend with one of those light note books that really was hard for me to get used to. it is set up different from the standard gnome or kde. but all the answers are there
