Problems with MOZILLA plugins

Hi!
I am a Linux user for about 1 month now. I spent almost every day on my PC/laptop to get everything to run and even longer to surf around the world to get all the info I needed to install different stuff.
I'd like to know what's the actual folder for the MOZILLA plugins?!
a) /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
b) /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4
c) /home/usrname/.mozilla/plugins

PC:P4, 40GB hd, 512Mb ram, Mandrake 9.2, KDE, Mozilla 1.4
Laptop:P3, Redhat (shrive) KDE, Mozilla-1.2.1
I am the sole user on both.

Why is it soooo difficult to install different plugins???

I managed to install JAVA which is running smooth, so I did with the FLASH/SHOCKWAVE-plugin, but I am having really a hard time to get my PLUGGER-5.0 to work, my MPLAYER-plugin, the X-MOVIE one, REALPLAYER-plugin and all the rest that would make using my boxes at least as easy and enjoyable as with other OS.
I love both Mandrake and Redhat, don't get me wrong.
I just need some good >>>detailed<<< advice.
Don't forget, I'm still a newbie, not ready to give up yet....hehehe
Thanx,
Mike

Should'nt the plugin .so's go in something like /usr/local/mozilla/plugins? I'm not sure about installing them to /usr/lib/mozilla. Installing to /home/<username>/.mozilla/plugins may work for installing them locally for a single user.

I don't have a : /usr/local/mozilla/plugins directory.

The only ones I found were /usr/lib/mozilla and /usr/lib/mozilla1.4 and they worked for the java-plugin, that I symlinked to my /usr/local/bin directory.

hmmm.......
HELP!!! Pls!!

ok, I created the dir in /usr/local/mozilla/plugins and copied all the plugins into the plugins-dir.
Nothing happened. I don't no what to do anymore.
I tried out everything, I think....

For individual users mozilla is in a hidden directory
It starts with a .

Look in /home/yourname/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat

I think this may be the file that you are looking for.

Hope this helps,
alar

I do know about the hidden individual user files, like ~/usr/.mozilla.

My question would be: what do I need to do in order to be able to watch Quicktime files???
I did install Mozplugger- and mplayer plugin, but I have only video, no audio!?!?
Thanks in advance.
