problems opening folders

I just updated to 10.10 and now when I go to places and try to open my documents, etc, nothing happens....I have files there and can access them with open office. Is this fixable or is it the way 10.10 works?

it is possible that you've not configured the defaultapplication for this file-types. Do you mean that the files don't open via mouseclick but if you open the application (OpenOffice) and go to "File"->"Open" in the Menu it works?
If so, you may rightclick one of the files and look at "properties" there you can configure the default application for the files.

If this doesn't work, please describe in more detail what you mean with "nothing happens".

mh, I don't have that much experience with Gnome, but it is an issue of the Windowmanager/Desktopenvironment so you'll have to check this. In KDE there is a menu within the systemconfiguration "Standard-applications" maybe you'll find something similar on your system...

btw, I found this http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&so...tu+default+app
